What is an Apprentice
An Apprenticeship is a course of learning, training and qualifications, completed in the workplace that gives young people the knowledge, skills and competence they need to progress in their chosen career or industry.
Apprentices are company employees that work alongside experienced staff to gain job-specific skills. They earn a wage and receive relevant training, usually on a day-release at technical college basis. The training is geared towards the Apprentices working towards nationally recognised qualifications.
Anyone living in England, over 16 and not in full-time education can apply.
Typically, Apprenticeships can take between one and four years to complete depending on the level of Apprenticeship being undertaken.
