LEEDS TRAINING TRUST
I was invited to an aptitude test and interview at LTT HQ. I was successful in both and told that they would put me in touch with any companies interested in employing me as an Advanced Modern Apprentice

Why would I want to take on an Apprentice?

Apprenticeships help businesses across all industries by offering a route to new talent. Trained staff with appropriate skills can carry out a broader range of tasks. This helps reduce skill shortages, minimise staff turnover and workplace accidents, and ultimately increase productivity.
Apprenticeships are cost effective as they learn while they're on the job and the government contributes to the costs of this learning.

What is the role of the employer?

You must give a full induction into the company and the role that the Apprentice will be carrying out. You will provide a manager who will responsible for the Apprentice during training. You must provide on-the-job training and pay their wages.

Are there financial Benefits?

There are clear financial benefits to employers and their investment in Apprenticeships is repaid many times over.
Recent studies have found that the costs of Apprenticeship training are recouped relatively quickly, and that where the investment is nurtured, the returns are significant.

What will an Apprentice cost?

Apprentices are like all employees and must receive a wage. The minimum wage for apprentices is £95 a week. However, as skills develop, many employers tend to increase wages. It is not unusual for Apprentices to earn an average of £170 net pay per week.
In addition there is the cost of the supervision and support for the duration of the Apprenticeship. These associated costs are not insignificant - however, the National Apprenticeship Service will match employer's commitment to hiring apprentices by covering in full, or in part, the training costs.

What are the Hours?

You must offer a minimum of 16 hours of work per week for the Apprentice to complete their Apprenticeship. However, most Apprentices are employed on a full time basis.
